8 Days Ndutu Migration Tanzania Safari

Day 01

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are warmly welcomed and picked up by a professional safari guide from Eco Kilimanjaro Expedition. After assistance with luggage and a short safari briefing, you are transferred to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.

This day is reserved for arrival and relaxation, allowing you to recover from your international journey while enjoying the calm surroundings before the safari begins.

Upon arrival at your Hotel, you check in and spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner is served, followed by an overnight stay.

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts abundant wildlife throughout the year.

You spend the day exploring the park’s varied landscapes, with excellent opportunities to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and diverse birdlife. A picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park, allowing uninterrupted game viewing. In the late afternoon, you proceed to the Ngorongoro highlands for your overnight stay.

Karatu to Ndutu (following the great migration)

Start your adventure from Karatu with a scenic drive to Ndutu in the Southern Serengeti, the heart of the Great Migration. Spend two nights surrounded by vast plains where thousands of wildebeest gather for the calving season, creating thrilling predator-prey action.

Enjoy game drives capturing the incredible wildlife and breath-taking landscapes before relaxing at your lodge each evening, embracing the magic of the Serengeti wilderness.

Ndutu to Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we drive straight to Serengeti National Park passing through Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check-in at Naabi Hill Gate and after that drive inside the endless plains of Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Tanzania, is one of the world’s most iconic safari destinations, famed for its endless plains and exceptional wildlife.

It hosts the Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles traverse the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing, pursued by predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Home to the Big Five and over 500 bird species, the park’s diverse habitats ranging from grasslands to riverine forests, offer spectacular game viewing year-round, making it a true jewel of African wilderness. A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. Late afternoon, drive to your tented camp for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

After breakfast, we drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing drive. Undoubtedly, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Sometimes described as an ‘eighth wonder of the world’, the Crater has achieved world renown, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year. You are unlikely to escape other vehicles here, but you are guaranteed great wildlife viewing in a genuinely mind-blowing environment.

There is nowhere else in Africa quite like Ngorongoro! Undeniably, it is one of the best places in the country to see the endangered black rhinoceros. Furthermore, the park is home to the entirety of The Big Five. It is particularly good place to see lions, herds of wildebeest, zebras and cape buffalo year-round. A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. Late afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to your lodge in Karatu, arriving late afternoon for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment in northern Tanzania, is known for its stunning scenery and diverse habitats, from lush groundwater forests to expansive alkaline lake shores.

Famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and flocks of flamingos, the park also shelters giraffes, hippos, zebras, and over 400 bird species. After lunch at a designated picnic site, we finalize our game drive and head back to Arusha city either at your accommodation if you wish to stay longer or at the airport to catch your flight to your next destination
